Season for Nonviolence: January 30 – April 4 Day 1 – COURAGE
This is the big (64 day)event of our Seasons for Peace and Nonviolence Tucson year.
The Gandhi/King Season for Nonviolence (SNV) starts on the anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s death (January 30) and continues until April 4th, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s memorial anniversary, in honor of the amazing positive change these 2 men brought to the consciousness of the world. This is my 19th year and, retired now, my efforts are all on-line – here and on the related Facebook page above.
Each day for these 64 days I will share one “peace practice” that anyone can do. As we practice these principles we learn HOW to build the peace we all so fervently desire, HOW to create a CULTURE of nonviolence that will allow each one on the planet to lead their lives without fear of war.
Today we start with COURAGE. Why is that a Peace Practice? Because only strong, courageous people can silence the voices of the many and take a stand for peace.
Stay tuned for the other 60 practices!
Here are the Seasons we practice each year, in order.
