Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. Ralph Waldo Emerson
Having done my fair share of failing, I have done my fair share of rising up afterwards, and I can tell you, it gets easier as I get older. Really. Even with less energy. It must have something to do with caring less what other people think, or maybe it’s because after 72 years on the planet there’s a lot of water already under the proverbial bridge.
“How does one become a butterfly?” ”You must want to fly so much- that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.” Trina Paulus
I speak of harder times now as “cocoon times,” to affirm there is something good brewing and I must just be patient and mindful to let it happen. This has not always been my way; when I was younger I kept looking for, “What’s wrong?” and guess what? I looked outside myself to find the wrong. This never turned out well.
